“Today is hard, tomorrow will be worse, but the day after tomorrow will be sunshine.”
— Jack Ma
Ma used this line in multiple speeches to describe the reality of building a business. Most people quit on the second day, when things get worse instead of better. The ones who survive to the third day are the ones who win.
I failed the college entrance exam twice. I applied to 30 jobs after graduation and got rejected from every one. KFC came to Hangzhou, 24 people applied, 23 got hired. I was the only one rejected. I applied to Harvard 10 times. All rejected. When I started Alibaba in my apartment in 1999, nobody believed in it. I survived because I never expected tomorrow to be easier. I just refused to quit before the sunshine came.
