The Story of Marcus

Legacy

Pages After Death

Cicero died on 7 December 43 BCE near Formiae after being proscribed by the Second Triumvirate. His head and hands were displayed in the Forum, but his words outlived the killers. De Re Publica, De Legibus, De Officiis, the speeches, and hundreds of letters shaped Latin prose, Renaissance learning, and political language for centuries.
