“It's all about how you handle plan B.”
— Tom Hanks
From Tom Hanks' interview on The Oprah Winfrey Show (2001), where he discussed his early years in Hollywood and overcoming rejection.
In the late 1970s, when I was trying to break into Hollywood, I faced countless rejections. In 1978, I went to an audition I thought would change my life. Walking out of the room, I heard the casting director say, 'He's not right. Find someone else.' Those words crushed me. I went back to my apartment, sat on the couch, and cried. My girlfriend asked what happened. I said, 'Maybe I'm just not cut out for this.' But the next morning, I realized that failure was simply a chance for a new beginning. If you're facing struggles, remember it's all about how you handle plan B. Keep your head high and keep moving forward.
