The Madwoman's Last Bow

Giraudoux died January 31, 1944, in occupied Paris at sixty-one. His last play, The Madwoman of Chaillot, was produced the next year and became his most famous work worldwide. His plays were adapted into English by Christopher Fry and Maurice Valency. He wrote fifteen plays, five novels, and dozens of essays. Bellac named its theater after him.
