John Lennon Quotes
Musician
John Lennon was musician from Great Britain
“You may say I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one.”— John Lennon
Lennon wrote this line in Imagine, the song he recorded in his home studio in 1971. He was asking listeners to picture a world without borders, possessions, or reasons to kill. He knew it sounded naive. That is why he added the second half. He was not claiming to be a prophet. He was saying: if you have ever imagined something better, you are not crazy and you are not alone.
The Story of John
December 8, 1980
Lennon returned to recording in 1980 with Double Fantasy. On December 8, Mark David Chapman shot him outside his apartment building in New York. He was forty. Within hours, thousands gathered in Central Park. Imagine played on every radio station in the world. Four decades later, the song still appears at peace rallies, vigils, and Olympic ceremonies. He asked people to imagine a better world. They never stopped.
