Colón Colón Quotes
Explorer
Colón Colón was explorer from Spain
“Following the light of the sun, we left the Old World.”— Colón Colón
Columbus wrote this in his ship's log. Behind the words stands a man whom the world considered a madman for a decade. He was wrong about almost everything: the size of the Earth, the distance to Asia, where he had actually landed. But he did what nobody before him had done. Sometimes a miscalculation leads to the discovery of a continent.
The Story of Colón
Valladolid
Columbus died on May 20, 1506, in Valladolid. He was 54. Until the end of his life he believed he had reached Asia. He never learned that he had found a new continent. His remains were moved four times: from Valladolid to Seville, then to Santo Domingo, to Havana, and back to Seville.
