The Story of genghis
His empire outlived him and his descendants ruled for centuries
Genghis Khan died in August 1227, likely from injuries sustained in a fall from his horse. He was approximately sixty-five. His burial site has never been found. His empire was divided among his sons and grandsons, who expanded it further. His grandson Kublai Khan founded the Yuan dynasty in China. The Mongol Empire eventually fragmented but its successor states ruled vast territories for centuries. Genetic studies suggest that roughly sixteen million men alive today are his direct descendants.
