The Story of Tutankhamun
Found in 1922, Unknown Before That
After his death Tutankhamun was erased from official records by his successors. His name was removed from monuments. His tomb in the Valley of the Kings was buried under debris and forgotten for 3,000 years. Howard Carter found it on November 4, 1922, intact, containing over 5,000 objects including the golden death mask. He is now the most recognizable pharaoh in history.
